Solent Forum Staff

The Forum is staffed by a full time manager, three part time officers and student placements.

Mike Clark, Chair
Mike Clark from the Geodata Institute is the Forum chair and chairs both Forum meetings and the Steering Group.

Karen McHugh, Solent Forum Manager
Karen McHugh is the Solent Forum Manager and manages the Forum and its staff, finance and business planning. She leads on the Recreation and Water Quality Subgroups. Her key project this year is Towards a Solent Planning System (SoMaP).

Rhian Edwards, Solent Forum Officer
Rhian Edwards, is the Solent Forum Officer who leads on the Nature Conservation Group and associated projects such as the Solent Disturbance and Mitigation Project and SEMS Group. She manages the Student Bursary fund, organises Members and Steering Group meetings, and updates the members database.

Kate Ansell, Solent Forum Officer
Kate Ansell is the Solent Forum Officer responsible for the Solent News service, the Forum’s websites, Forum publications and the Forum’s research and reports database, Solent Disc.

Gemma Conway, Solent Forum Officer
Gemma is currently working on coastal indicators for the Solent with a view to developing the Forum's indicator portal and the next State of the Solent report.

Student Work Placements
Student work placements are offered mainly during the summer months. However, we sometimes have other short-term requirements. Please contact us for further information.
