Terms of reference	The Department is a multi-disciplinary institution combining biological, chemical, geological and physical expertise in oceanographic science. In addition, the Department has achieved national standards of excellence for teaching and training students in marine science. Marine research projects range from inputs to international global programmes, European and national programmes and more local coastal management processes.
