Type of organisation The NFSA is recognised as the governing body for sea anglers in England, by HM Government through the Sports Council.
Terms of reference Generally to promote the sport of sea angling with rod and reel, propose rules to govern the sport, encourage affiliation of similar organisations, and represent the interests of sea anglers when and where necessary.
Membership Isle of Wight Division: 18 local clubs with approximately 1,200 members total.

National: 580 clubs with 32,000 members.

Geographical Area Locally the coastline of the Isle of Wight and surrounding sea area from the Hampshire/Dorset border to the Hampshire/Sussex border.
Publications Nationally, the NFSA Handbook and Diary, NFSA Quarterly Journal and various specific reports.
Relevant projects/initiatives Locally, we are particularly interested in increased access to the coastline, launching points for small craft and to ensure that no unnecessary restrictions are placed on the sport of sea angling.
